God of Hope

Isn’t that a wonderful prayer above from Romans 15:13? Our God is “the God of hope.” As He fills us who trust in Christ with joy and peace (fruit of the Spirit), we overflow with hope—a calm certainty that our lives and futures are safe and secure in His hands. It’s what everyone needs, and it is what we who trust in Christ have to offer as we share the Good News of salvation in Jesus.

Second Surgery Went Well

George’s prostate removal operation went flawlessly with no complications. His hospital roommate “Enzo” had a similar procedure but started to hemorrhage in the recovery room, requiring a second operation to save him from bleeding out! We prayed when we heard the news, and God had mercy on him, granting more time to repent and put his trust in the Lord. Please pray that God would soften Enzo’s hard heart.

George is now steadily recovering at home, and is scheduled to have his 26 staples and catheter removed on December 27th. We believe things are going as well as they are, because you prayed to God for and with us. After 6 more weeks of recuperation, we will visit the surgeon on February 11th to go over a PSA test and biopsy results from the prostate and lymph nodes that were taken out.

We are always grateful for your prayers, support and encouragement,
George and Karen King

December update

H.M.S. Muslim seminar

  • The seminar took place on November 23rd with 22 in attendance.
  • This was our first time being attendees of an HMS Muslim seminar.
  • The format and content create a positive and practical emphasis that we can heartily recommend to you as time well spent.
  • At the last moment, one of the presenters had to cancel, so George was asked to sit on the two Q&A panels for the day.

George’s Cancer

  • George has been healing well from his November 14th Bladder surgery. In fact, he feels better than he has for a long time.
  • The scheduled December 13th prostate surgery remains unchanged.
  • Please pray for George’s recovery / healing through the end of January.

Christmas with the Kings

  • You may know that we have 5 adult children and 9 growing grandchildren. We all plan to gather in Brantford for Dec. 20th Christmas dinner. We were always away at Christmastime during the 15 years we lived in the UK. It may be that the last time was Christmas 2007!

We are always grateful for your prayers, support and encouragement,
George and Karen King

First Surgery Update

Praise God the surgery went well. Today (Nov 14), George had bladder surgery for a low grade cancer and it went very smoothly.

George says, “I am aware that many people have been praying for me. God has answered your prayers and I am grateful to God for his undeserved kindness and care. Today has been a good trial run for my prostate surgery on December 13th.”

Thank you for continued prayers as George recovers at home and gets ready for the next surgery.

We praise the Lord for you and want to thank you for your prayers, support and encouragement,
George and Karen
