The boys and girls clubs will take a break for\u00a0the holidays but not until after a Christmas party celebrating the birth of God&#8217;s Son. On the last Saturday before Christmas, we will join with other local Christians in a busy public shopping area to sing\u00a0Christmas carols to shoppers. George will preach a\u00a0Christmas gospel message as part of the event. On the last Sunday morning before Christmas, we will enjoy a Christmas play performed by the church children and led by Karen. That evening, we will put on a Silent Night Carol Sing in honour of the 100th anniversary of the famous Christmas ceasefire on the battlefield during World War One. A great TV commercial reenacting the same event has been widely seen in\u00a0British homes so it is very much in the national consciousness right now. Here it is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"1914 | Sainsbury&#039;s Ad | Christmas 2014\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NWF2JBb1bvM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Finally, on Christmas morning as per custom, our\u00a0church will gather together\u00a0to remember that the presents, the turkey dinner, and everything else we enjoy about Christmas is only possible because of the birth of the baby in the manger. Christmas starts with Christ.<\/p>\n<p>We anticipate an exciting Sunday service between Christmas and New Years in which 3 of our young people will be baptized.\u00a0What better way to close\u00a0one\u00a0year and start a new one?<\/p>\n<p>In the new year, we hope to see the launch of a fellowship of believers from a Muslim background from across Birmingham. George will be sitting\u00a0with several other key people this month\u00a0to work through some of the advance preparation needed to create\u00a0such a fellowship.
